The Canadian Co-operative Association, an NGO that builds savings and loans programs in developing countries, has created a rudimentary microfinance system for the impoverished people of war-ravaged Cambodia.
Excerpt from article:“A rich person has a career, some property, a home and a cow; a middle-income family has a cow and a bit of property, while a poor family has enough savings to buy rice. A very poor family, however, has nothing neither cow, property nor savings.”
